Quo Vadis helps you navigate your maps by providing a tracking
mechanism which can be optionally linked to a GPS
receiver. The tracking mechanism is controlled and activated or
deactivated from the Map View
Navigate menu, shown here.To activate tracking, you first need to select a destination you wish to track. You can do this either by using the Tap-And-Hold popup menu to pick a destination location, or by using the Select Destination menu command. If you decide to use the Select Destination command, you will be presented with the Select Window, which is almost identical to the Find Window. The Select Destination menu command performs exactly the same as the Find command, except that it affects the tracker only. If multiple destinations are found (for example, three disjoint occurrences of the same named road), you can use the Select Again menu command to cycle through all the destinations. To use tracking effectively, our recommended approach is to first perform a Find for your present location. Then perform a Select Destination for where you wish to go. You will then have a bulls-eye target on your starting point, and the x on you destination. You then have to visually guide yourself from one symbol to the other. To use a GPS with Quo Vadis, you first need to verify that your GPS settings match your GPS receiver. Use the GPS Setup menu command to display the GPS Setup Window as shown here. Select your GPS receiver type from the list. If you dont see your type, try using the NMEA Compatible option. For complete details on setting up a GPS connection, see the Operating Requirements section. Select Automatic Pan if you wish the map to scroll automatically to keep your position in the center on the screen.
Once youve completed the setup, you may activate the input of
data from your GPS receiver by using the GPS Input On/Off
menu command from the Navigate menu. You will see the
Communicating Icon like this in the bottom-right corner of the screen:
