Magellan Map Companion Updated Maps or Quo Vadis 3.0 Upgrade.
Users of the Magellan Map Companion software and Magellan GPS Companion receivers can now obtain updated year 2000 map data directly from this web site, or upgrade to Quo Vadis 3.0 instead.
This is an updated USA map library for use with the Map Companion software that is included with Magellan's GPS Companion receivers.
The most significant changes over the standard Map Companion 1998 maps are:
- This new library is based on year 2000 street data.
- There are more city map files. Previously, many small cities were grouped within county map files. These cities are no longer part of the county maps, and are now available as individual map files.
In all, there are over 30000 map files compared to the approximately 28000 for the 1998 data set.
- There are many new and updated roads over the 1998 data. However most of these new roads occur in areas that have experienced rapid growth. For example, places like Las Vegas have changed more since 1998 than places like San Francisco or New York, so it is unlikely you would notice any significant changes in the updated maps over the 1998 maps in those older cities.
- There are a few more points-of-interest (POI) included.
This map library CANNOT be used with any Quo Vadis versions.
